Well, this is my first post, as is required in order for my blog to show up, when accessed. I will be using this blog in commenting on other site's posts.

Also, I hope to develop some links and resources concerning the debate over homosexuality and the church. I am involved in this issue as a member of the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans) Dialogue Team, which was commissioned by the 2005 Annual Conference of the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. Our purpose is to train other dialogue teams througout the conference who will facilitate amicable discussions between those of opposing views. In these discussions, we talk to each other, rather than about each other.

Our team is balanced in view points, having 3 members who support change in UMC policy, 3 who support the present UMC policy (which aknowledges the worth and value of homosexuals, but declares that practice as incompatible with Christian teaching), and 2 who have no strong position opinion for either side.
